all on their own

headed steadfast ahead

it can happen in the forest

or down a city street

oh it can happen anywhere

they lose their way down a narrow path of plans

busy with a GPS full pockets and yet empty hands

it is the creatures great and small

that know where to look

who to follow

and when to stop.

for animals of the forest

 are never truly lost.

The waters have risen

To the forest I once knew

And I am stuck treading shallow waters

As I try to make it through

Lost is a lonely journey

When you must wander all alone

Where another once shared the vision

And wanted to share a home

Where was the bridge we should have burned

And where is the one we should cross

Before we lost sight of each other

And each of us alone became so lost.
