"Forest Traffic" Digital Art by Pulkit Kudiwal
Linking with the Sunday Muse for Muse #159
It is the humans that get truly lost
all on their own
headed steadfast ahead
it can happen in the forest
or down a city street
oh it can happen anywhere
they lose their way down a narrow path of plans
busy with a GPS full pockets and yet empty hands
it is the creatures great and small
that know where to look
who to follow
and when to stop.
for animals of the forest
are never truly lost.
This is charming!!!! And now, it feels as though many are truly lost. Cheers and Happy Mom's Day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mom's Day to you as well Helen.
DeleteLoved your poem, Carrie. Busy with GPS (and Maps) remined me of a picture of our youngest grandaughter , the age three, with her map helping us find our way in London.

Thank you Jim, I will go back and check that out. :-)
DeleteSadly, it is only man who gets lost in forests, stumbling over his greed and ignorance, "full pockets and empty hands" ... how true!
ReplyDeleteYou are very right Beverly.....greed and ignorance!!
DeleteI love this. Here on the west coast we have a hungry bear on the edge of town trying to find food, and a few towns south, a cougar uncharacteristically attacked a women the other day - obviously starving, as this is unheard of behaviour. The cougar was killed. The bear is still lurking about. The poor wild things are having a hard time right now. But when left alone, with enough habitat, they do just fine.
ReplyDeleteYes you are right Sherry. All the envading man has done has turned their world and way upside down. It is both depressing and infuriating.
DeleteSo true. I think our species is so lost they will never reorient properly.
ReplyDeleteI so agree Lisa. Thank you for stopping by.
DeleteYes, the animals know their way through the forest. It's the two legged humans who get lost in the journey. I had to laugh at the gps as we need that to navigate us everywhere.
ReplyDeleteYes us humans and our GPS LOL. We could learn so much from the animal kingdom.
Delete"busy with a GPS full pockets and yet empty hands" What a powerful line! Your poem talks , Carrie. Happy Mother's Day :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Happy mother's day to you as well Sunita! 💐

Thank you Laura! So glad you joined in at the Muse this week.
DeleteNot many animals here in Havant, lost or otherwise. But humans? Yep, I guess there are lots of those who need to be found by somebody... Thanks for another thought provoking picture. ♥
ReplyDeleteGlad the image spoke to you Jinksy. Always wonderful to see you at the Muse! 💜
Deletefor animals of the forest
ReplyDeleteare never truly lost.
They know their forest home like the back of their hands. Yes, only humans get astray more so out of the jungle on a clear street corner, perhaps!
Hank
Yes they are much wiser than us. Thanks for reading Hank.
DeleteComforting to realise that when we humans have destroyed our life support systems the world's wildlife will carry on as usual . . .
ReplyDeleteThanks for the thoughful poem.
Glad you joined us this week, and thank you for reading! Have a great week!
DeleteA unique, and thoughtful poem, Carrie!
ReplyDeleteSpot on! It's so true. We humans are so lost without our devices
