The Sheltering & What the Trees Know

Come join us!

To hold the souls of others is considered holy

And that is how she would be remembered

She stood a monument among her kind

Broken in pieces and built back up

Her soul scarred by saw and blade

But she would live on

Giving to others as she always had

Once breath and now shelter.

What Truly Warms

Linking with Flash Fiction 55 at Verse Escape
a wonderful prompt that will be weekly for the month of April.
Come join us!

Cook me up a summer afternoon and I may go swallow a river in Colorado
I would rather sip cool breezes from an autumn afternoon
than gulp dry skies of a blazing hot morning
somewhere the clouds have mercy on starving fields in summer
as I long for crisp winter mornings to warm my soul.
