Poems & Tigers

All the things one has forgotten scream for help in dreams.  ~Elias Canetti

I lay here in silence

Parched like a throat with too much to say

But in my dreams there is a magnificent pool

And my poems surround it like thirsty tigers

longing for more and hungry to share

I wake up swimming in words.

  11. Your words swim all the time, Carrie. This struck a chord with me
because my husband has dementia, but in his dreams he reads
    again, and is considered brilliant.
