Galloping with Horses

Linking with  Imaginary Gardens for "The Tuesday Platform" imagined by Magaly
and because I feel like double dipping  I am also linking with
Poets United for Midweek Motif ~ Animals
brought to us by Susan

Galloping with horses
is where my soul rides
there are no saddles
and there are no fence lines
only a hard cool breeze
that flows through our mane
with the soft ground beneath
and the wild open range
we run and we gallop
and we fly like the wind
looking to the distance
as a long lost friend
for galloping with horses
is where my soul rides
there are no saddles
and there are no fence lines.

  3. I love that your soul gallops with horses, the wind flowing through your mane........no fences, no enclosures......just that vast distance, and the exultation of the ride. Yay!

I'm pretty much in love with these lines. Just perfect, and freeing...

  5. Lovely rounded poem, a sense of leaving and return, and becoming one with horse and wind during the ride.

    1. Check the link over at Poets United, Carrie. I had to hit HOME and then there it was. Beautiful, no matter how many times I read it.

  7. I like this. When I was a child, some of us kids used to PLAY that we were horses & gallop, gallop, gallop all over the school playground at recess time. We enjoyed the 'wild open range' for 15 minutes at a time.

  8. Wow, this sounds lovely. My wife works for a company which runs horseback safaris in South Africa and Botswana, It sort of mixes up the dancing with elephants and galloping with horses!
