Time Spirals On

Courtesy Google Images

Linking with Imaginary Gardens for "Fussy Little Forms" ~ Rondelet

The rondelet is a short French poetry form featuring a strict rhyme and meter pattern plus a lovely repeated refrain.

Time is making fools of us again. ~J.K. Rowling

Time spirals on
like steps in a mansion so grand
time spirals on
further onward with each step down
it is loose like a wayward man
can't catch it with the best laid plans
time spirals on.

An Elaborate Plan

Linking with     Imaginary Gardens for Fussy Little Forms: Shadorma
Imagined by Marian

The Shadorma form is:
  • A six-line poem (or series of six-line stanzas)
  • Syllable count by line: 3-5-3-3-7-5
  • Not rhymed

My soul is in the sky.  ~William Shakespeare

This body
 is grounded held to
 this earth by
  gravity
a force we cannot see nor
touch with tethered hands

The inner

soul that rides within
tarries light
hidden from
view waiting for the gates to
open wide and clear

It is an

elaborate plan
no man could
design it
nor engineer the true code
it is in God's hands.

Her Name Is Autumn

Linking with Poets United Midweek Motif ~ Autumn

No spring nor summer’s beauty hath such grace
As I have seen in one Autumnal face....
~John Donne

I wait for her quietly like a leaf upon the wind.
Longing for her true presence to awaken me again.
Then slowly she enters like a princess into a room.
Glowing in auburn grace that speaks to me like the moon.
October she whispers much to my surprise.
It is my birthday she goes on and then
before I know it
she leaves me with a sigh.

Like Looking into the Eyes of a Lover

Google Images

"The moon lives in the lining of your skin."
~ Pablo Neruda

Like looking
into the eyes of a lover
I find myself spellbound
at the sight of you
 I look on
in your direction
every chance I can
like a man
with a beautiful
woman in view
my eyes follow
the curves
and it feels like
you follow me
on my path
do you feel
it to?
the pull
the longing
to be closer
or is it
just a
spell
that
you
have
cast
upon
me
alone
like
a
forlorn
gypsy
may
pickpocket
a fool?
If I
shall be
a fool
then
let it be
yours!

Galloping with Horses

Linking with  Imaginary Gardens for "The Tuesday Platform" imagined by Magaly
and because I feel like double dipping  I am also linking with
Poets United for Midweek Motif ~ Animals
brought to us by Susan

Galloping with horses
is where my soul rides
there are no saddles
and there are no fence lines
only a hard cool breeze
that flows through our mane
with the soft ground beneath
and the wild open range
we run and we gallop
and we fly like the wind
looking to the distance
as a long lost friend
for galloping with horses
is where my soul rides
there are no saddles
and there are no fence lines.

All Rise and Sing

Linking with Poets United Mid-Week Motif ~ Rising Above
Brought to us by Sumana

You can cage the singer but not the song.  ~Harry Belafonte

We build ships to put in cases on display
and assemble model cars to place upon a shelf,
but a good song or rhyme cannot be kept down.
Its voice carries beyond the pages that hands once held.
and the melody rises with the singers that stand to their feet
hailing to all souls to both listen and to truly speak

Each song has a message that will echo and project to far lands
for the first solo "a cappella" never forgets the lyrical refrain
as soon there is a choir each holding a songbook in hand
and the melody rises with the singers that stand to their feet
hailing to all souls to both listen and to truly speak.

Light on My Feet

Dancing is like dreaming with your feet! ~Constanze

Linking withImaginary Gardens for Bits of Inspiration ~ Keep Dancing

 Imagined by Susie

My other contribution was a more negative than I think the prompt deserved.  So I decided to do another a bit more on the light side.  So here it is:

Light on my feet would not describe my true pace
cause Fred Astaire and I were never soul mates
in fact if he had ever asked me to dance cheek to cheek
I think he would have ended up with injured feet
You see I am known for stepping on toes
and where I will fall no one knows
I am awkward with no grace to bestow
with a bunion the size of  Colorado
so now you know not to ask me to dance
if you do you are taking your feet's health in your hands.

Odd Number

Childhood is measured out by sounds and smells and sights, before the dark hour of reason grows. ~John Betjeman

I may be a word person a poet of sorts, but as a child I had a weird relationship with numbers.
As I learned them in the start of schooling, I gave them genders.
Let me introduce you to my friends:

1. He is a boy
2. She is a girl
3 She is a girl
4 He is a boy
5 She is a girl
6 She is a girl
7 He is a boy
8 She is a girl
9 He is a boy
10 He is a boy

So I guess you realize now, that I am a crazy loon that should probably be locked up in the Loony Ben!  That being said, here is my contribution to today's prompt at Imaginary Gardens.
Today's theme is: Synesthesia

If I decided to date it would be the number 8
she is a symmetrical beauty and
of course she has all the right curves

If I were to marry it would be the number 2
she is never fickle and the perfect number to serve

If I should choose to go camping
my trail hiking companion
choice would be number 9
he is hardy and a little reckless but in spandex
he sure looks fine

If I ever enter a beauty contest I want my judge to be number 10
he is always a good judge of character and his score always means
 you win!

Broken

Linking with Imaginary Gardens for The Tuesday Platform.  Take a look and join us!

[A] final comfort that is small, but not cold:  The heart is the only broken instrument that works.  ~T.E. Kalem

Some things when they fall they shatter and seem beyond repair
while others seem to brace the fall but invisibly they are impaired
a heart can see another's fall and then itself break in two
but tears like glistening diamonds will fall and make it new
God bless the heart that is broken for another's pain it has truly felt and seen
but God help the heart that will not break for it is surely broken indeed.
